I am all ready to head off to Lincoln Center tomorrow to begin the adventure of the 2015 Directors Lab. I will be working on Tom Stoppard’s play The Hard Problem and I am looking forward to hearing the other directors opinions on this intriguing and structurally complex play. I am also all ready after weeks of prep for my class on Shakespeare and the first Folio. Ann Cattaneo contacted a collection of the directors coming to the Lab this year and ask up to present a class on subject form our own careers to our fellow Lab members. As I have worked closely with the first folio as an actor and now use it when directing or editing a Shakespeare project, I was asked to present on first Folio. I have also been asked to speak a little about Tamburlaine and Christopher Marlow as this is one of the shows the Lab is working on this year. I have gotten all my print outs ready from both the first Folio and with some help from my little brother who is still in school and has access to Jstore, I was able to track down a first printing of Tamburlaine to make copy’s from. Below is a photo of my boyfriend Tim and friends Morgan and Vivian helping organize all the different pages for class!
